Thane: A woman gave birth to a baby on board a slow local train travelling from Titwala to CSMT on Saturday evening, prompting a swift response from fellow passengers and railway authorities. The delivery took place at around 5.34 pm as the train was approaching Thane station.According to railway officials, the woman went into labour while the train was en route. Rising to the occasion, fellow commuters and railway personnel came together to assist her, and the baby was safely delivered inside the coach before the train reached the platform.Soon after arrival at Thane, railway police rushed to the coach and provided immediate assistance. The mother and newborn were shifted to Thane Civil Hospital for medical examination and post-delivery care.The incident drew appreciation from passengers at the station for the prompt response of commuters and railway authorities. The health condition of the mother and baby was being monitored, officials said.
